A fix needed for old sites

posted by simon on Tuesday, December 01, 2009

If your site was created prior to September 2006, and you've been using the http://tiddlyspot.com/sitename style url since then, you might have a problem updating your site now.

You need to update your upload macro to use the "new" subdomain based urls. Here's how to do it:
  • Seach for "<<upload http://tiddlyspot" by typing it in your search box (without the quotes)
  • Edit each tiddler that contains that string and look for this text (except with your site name in place of sitename):
<<upload http://tiddlyspot.com/sitename/store.cgi ... >>
  • Change it to look like this (once again use your site name in place of sitename)
<<upload http://sitename.tiddlyspot.com/store.cgi ... >>

Click 'done' to update save the tiddlers. Once you've done this you should be able to 'upload' or 'save to web' as before.

If you have any problems with this please email support@tiddlyspot.com and don't forget to mention your site name in the email.

Regards,

Simon.

Ps, I'm wondering who has the oldest tiddlyspot in active continuous use. Morris Gray's http://twhelp.tiddlyspot.com/ might be a contender...

The link for twhelp is incorrect (tiddyspot instead of tiddlyspot).
