There may be some hope!

See this news group post and this updated version of UploadTiddlerPlugin.

I haven't tried it yet.

Update:

Sorry the UploadTiddlerPlugin is different to the UploadPlugin that Tiddlyspot uses. So this might not help. I have done some experiments with CORS configuration with some limited success. Will take another look at it soon.

Hm, I can't seem to find any UploadTiddlerPlugin in my tiddlyspot TW...?
I can find an UploadPlugin - should I exchange this for that new UploadTiddlerPlugin?

Thank you!

When I posted this I didn't realise that it was a fixed UploadTiddlerPlugin (rather than UploadPlugin)...

But there is some other tentative good news, I am currently able to upload from a local file using Chrome.

@Simon

Sorry if I'm slow, but what exactly are you saying I (we) should do to make it work; are you saying I should install UTP? From where then - the source
http://tiddlywiki.bidix.info/#UploadTiddlerPlugin
is from 2008? And there is no UTP per default when creating a new TW on tiddlyspot.
Or do I just misunderstand your posts here and should I NOT get any UTP?

Thank you Simon!

Yeah, forget about UTP.

But if you use chrome, I think upload from a local file should work.

Firefox still has some problems, but I think they are different from the original issue.

2012-01-06. My 1844 Kb MPTW tiddlywiki stopped uploading to Tiddlyspot almost a year ago. I really didn't try again to upload it until two weeks ago.

After realizing that most of the browsers wouldn't let me upload, and that there is not known way around this, I began testing one browser after another, to see inf any one was updated enogh to keep posting as they all used to a year ago.

After failing to upload with Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera, QtWeb and Lunascape, I came across one single browser that could upload my file, and this is K-Meleon 1.6.0.

I used the portable beta, but probably the stable 1.5.4 install version will work just as fine.

I Hope this can help you all.

Hello,

Forgive me if I suggest something stupid...

A tiddler server like tiddlyspot very much looks like an IMAP server where tiddlers would be mails stored on the server.

Could this protocole be used to overcome this difficulty?

Virtually any tiddlywiki user can spare an email address on an IMAP server for its use as a personnal Tiddlyspot.

It would also be a way to circumvate the issue for iPad/iPhone users who can't save either their Tiddlywiki files on a Dropbox.

Thank you for your work. :-)

(I don't know how to hack in PHP or JavaScript, so I can't propose a patch as a proof of concept)
