Sites available in read-only mode

As far as I know everyone's sites should be back online, but saving updates and creating new sites is not supported.
Please take this opportunity to make backups of your sites.
Update: There was a bug causing problems for sites with numbers in their names. This has been fixed now, so please try again this impacted you.

As a reply to the previous comment, I was able to access my site and save it off.
Thanks!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have successfully saved my site and will move to a new service to work on it. I hope one day Tiddlyspot will return! But until then, thanks again!
Thank you Simon. I appreciate your efforts. Thanks for all you have done and, if you find it rewarding, that tiddlyspot will return in its previous iteration.
Thank you! I was able to save my wiki. Much appreciated. If I can ask, how does one convert the 'online' version to the 'offline' version?
HI, I can now see my data - thank you for restoring that temporarily !
Now trying to click "download" and getting a 404 error:
Error!
404 Not Found
The requested url was not found on this server.
I am doing something wrong and should no use the download functioanlity ? I used to do that and it would download everything into .html file I could open locally
The same with me. Error! 404 Not Found. The requested url was not found on this server.
But many, many thanks to have TS-wikis accessible again.
same with me. right-click and "sava as.." results in a .html-file that seems ok to me but that says "It appears that this TiddlyWiki has been incorrectly saved. Please see http://www.tiddlywiki.com/#Download for details" when opened in any given browser.
but first and foremost: THANK YOU A LOT for bringing back our tiddlywikis!
*"save as"
Thank you so much for listening to our pleads.
Also to anyone who is having no idea how to download a local copy. Please check the settings and tiddlyspot saver. Make sure you do not have a password there. Then click on the "save changes" button.
This will prompt a download as HTML file. This is the proper way to save a Wiki.
Thank you, thank you for getting this back up as read-only!!
I'm not able to download a copy unfortunately. I'm not sure what step I'm missing - I don't have my password in the field as indicated. When I click download I get the 404 error mentioned above.
If I use 'save changes' - I get this message:
You need to save this TiddlyWiki to a file before you can save changes
I'm using Safari if that matters.
Thanks for any help!
Even if it is not the very last version, it is great to have recovered my two Tiddlywikis hosted on tiddlyspot thanks to your care.
Thank you very much for the service.
I think there may be a problem with wikis with a dash (-) in the address. It is redirecting and removing the dash. This is making some pages inaccessible.
Like others, I am unable to download. If I try using "save changes" (with password entered) I get a message saying I need to save it before saving changes. I have tried using the browser "save as" and when opening the saved page I get a message that the page was saved incorrectly. Not sure how to download/save my wiki before it goes away again.
When I tried to save without entering a password as suggested in a previous message I receive the same message "You need to save this TiddlyWiki to a file before you can save changes"
I'm stuck and unable to download, save or browser save as. I've tried Chrome browser and Firefox browser.
Thanks for getting these back!
Much appreciated. And thanks for tiddlyspot for all these years.
What's your feeling of the chances of normal service being resumed?
For those having trouble saving your tiddlyspot file off line, I was able to work around the issue as follows.
1. Make a new tiddler.
2. Make a link in the tiddler to ./index.html (make sure to include the dot and the slash in the URL).
3. Save the tiddler.
4. Right-click (or however you get your context menu) the link and choose to "Save link as..."
5. Select the offline location and file name, then select save.
Note: this same method should also work from any location other than your tiddlyspot (such as a local html file or any other Webpage you can edit) if you put the specific address of your tiddlyspot into the link.
That downloaded the whole file, though it did not include the new tiddler I just made, or any other unsaved changes. When I opened the file locally, it did not give any warning about it being saved incorrectly.
Ditto about site with '-' . Mine also pass protected. So will wait a bit and see. Personally love this site. Btw,9nly ever needed maybe 5 'save' files ever. Just caught me by surprise.Personally would love google password integragation
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
I am very pleased to be able to see my various wikis again. Thank you very much for getting us access again. While I have managed to save a TW5 wiki, I also have several TW classic (version 2.x) wikis that I cannot download or save.
I have followed Zephyr Riley's instructions without success with my TW classic wikis. I get a "You need to save this TiddlyWiki to a file before you can save changes" message when I create the new tiddler.
I have tried both with and without password, and both the Save Changes and the Download buttons. I would very much love to get copies of these old wikis from TiddlySpot. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions for getting a TW 2.x wiki downloaded?
Cheers, Andrew Mc
Below set of steps worked for me.
1. http://cheatsheet.tiddlyspot.com
2. new tiddler
3. [[right-click-here|http://cheatsheet.tiddlyspot.com/index.html]]
4. done
5. Right-click that link you created.
6. Save Link As...
7. Name your file eg. cheatsheet.html
To do your next site
8. Edit your New Tiddler
9. Update the target link http://next1...
10. Go to step 5 above :)
@Hig D.: that worked for me, thanks a lot!
Worked me me now, thanks !!
Thank you very much!
Simon,
Thank you so much for your work and making all this possible for us to download our wikis.
I found out that wikis containing a dash "-" are not working. I tried to browse some public wikis that contain it and it doesn't work...
Thank you for looking into this problem.
Thank you, simon
Thank You Simon and Daniel!
I got my data back. And yes, I'll backup more often ;)
You have a very nice service with TiddlySpot and I would not mind to pay a reasonable fee to help maintaining and developing it.
Best regards

I'm having an issue with mine. minotaur1221anime.tiddlyspot.com
I was so relieved to find my Tiddlyspot on the Wayback Machine so I could back-up my file.
So if your Tiddlyspot, like mine, didn't reappear as a read-only file, check the Internet Archive to see if yours can be backed-up from there!

P.S. I used Tiddlywiki 5 for my Tiddlyspot site. I am not sure if the older TW versions can be backed-up off the Wayback Machine like I was able to do.
My site name is "dajya-ranger" and the URL is "http://dajya-ranger.tiddlyspot.com".
I looked at the blog entry and tried to access my site, but I was redirected to "http://dajyaranger.tiddlyspot.com" and got a "404 Not Found Error".
If the site name contains a hyphen, it doesn't seem to be displayed. Is there any way?
same here: I was able to save a TW5 tiddlywiki, but am not able to save a classic TW2.6: any hints on that?
Oops, I can't get to gp-kb.tiddlyspot.com
Tiddlywikis with hyphens in their names can't be reached.
thanks very much, i am looking forward to a fully working site, you'll di it, i am sure, thanks in advance
Any idea if/when sites with hyphens might be restores/available again ?
(or, is there any work-around? alternative?)
Ah, sorry I didn't see the posts about the hyphens. Let me fix that now...
Thanks to all of you for your work, specially to David and Simon. I was able to save all my wikis following Hig D. instructions. Thank you all again.
no clue what you mean - I'm still not able to save an old-fashioned tiddlywiki 2-6-x ?
I did save TiddlyWiki 2.5.3, following the instructions described by Hig D. I created a new tiddly , or edited an old tiddly, including a link to http://whetever.tiddlyspot.com/index.html. Then saved the changes (no uploaded). Then right-click the link and "save as" the html file in my local storage. I worked every time, even when only the title of the TW was shown.
Just wanted to say thankyou very much for keeping this alive so we could download a copy of the tiddlywiki's!
